Background:
Eric Knox is the current administrator of the Department of Biology's herbarium at Indiana University Bloomington. Founded in 1885, the herbarium houses about 140,000 specimens of vascular plants, including the collections of Charles C. Deam on which Flora of Indiana is based. The herbarium is housed in room 130C of the Smith Research Center at 10th Street and Bypass 46 in Bloomington. The general public is welcome to visit the greenhouse. Researchers and artists seeking to use the collections for monographic, floristic, or other plant taxonomic research are also welcome and can be best accommodated by contacting the curator in advance of arrival: herbarium@bio.indiana.edu.
