Background:
Michael McGerr is a nationally known expert on American political history whose specialties are the United States since 1877, and American political and social history. His research addresses such topics as the decline of American politics, America's Western past, gender and political style, and the Vietnam War. McGerr is the author of the book "The Decline of Popular Politics: The American North, 1865-1928."
