Background:

  • Research interests are the origins of children's behavioral problems and social competencies, parent-child relationships, behavior therapy, and family therapy.
  • Involved in longitudinal study of children examining mechanisms in the cycle of violence, and the effect of physical abuse in early childhood on a child's development of aggressive behavior.
  • Also examining the roles of early family and peer experience, family process, peer relations, and social cognitive biases in children.
