Ruth Needleman is the Labor Studies coordinator of the Northwest Region. She served two years as national director of education of the Service Employees International Union in Washington, D.C and is widely published on subjects related to labor unions, race relations, and women in the labor force. Needleman made three trips to the former Soviet Union and attended seminars at Moscow's Higher Trade Union College to research comparative labor movements. She is also the recipient of the AFL-CIO Community Service Award.
