Douglas Zipes is a specialist on the research and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias and a member of a team which developed first cardioverter. He pioneered an alcohol ablation catheterization technique which cures some arrhythmias and is a specialist on Wolf-Parkinson-White, Marfan, and other syndromes. Zipes is a specialist on sudden death in athletes.
