Myron Bloom

Background:

Myron Bloom was solo horn with the Cleveland Orchestra under George Szell (1954-1977), the Casals Festival Orchestra (1965-1975), and the Orchestra of Paris under Daniel Barenboim (1977-1985). He was a participant in the Marlboro Festival from 1953-1970.

Mr. Bloom is a former faculty member of the Curtis Institute of Music, the Juilliard School, Boston University, the Oberlin Conservatory, and the Cleveland Institute. His important solo recordings include the Brahms Horn Trio with Rudolf Serkin and Michael Tree, and the Strauss 1st horn concerto with George Szell and the Cleveland Orchestra.
