Background:
[Professor Walker is on a leave of absence from 2004 - 2006]Kim Walker has performed as a concerto soloist worldwide. She has made appearances with major orchestras and conductors in Berlin, Paris, New York and London, and has performed solo recitals and taught master classes throughout Europe, Australia, Africa, China and the USA. Walker performed as a solo bassoon with the London Symphony, RAI Torino, and Chamber Orchestra of Europe under Solti, Bernstein, Rattle, Dutoit and Maazel.
Professor Walker has been a guest at festivals worldwide, including Ravinia, Lincoln Center, Marlboro, Prades, Schleswig-Holstein, Luzern, Sydney, Hong Kong and Banff. She is the founder and director of Les Etoiles Musicales d'Archigny, a chamber music festival in France. She has received awards for her CDs including Record of the Year in Britain and a Gold Prize from Diapason, Paris.
