Background:

• Member of the University Hospital Ethics Committee and the Riley Hospital for Children Infant Review Committee.
• Member of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Advisory Council on Nursing Education and of the National League for Nursing's National Advisory Committee on Testing and Evaluation.
• Completed the certificate program in ethics from the University of Washington's Advanced Ethics Institute and a course on bioethics from the Kennedy Institute on Ethics.
• Funded by the Indiana Hospital Association for research on institutional ethics committees.
