Susan G. Komen for the Cure has awarded the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis a $4.7 million grant for breast cancer research. The funding is part of $60 million in research that Komen is set to distribute this year to scientists worldwide who are seeking cures for breast cancer. IU researchers will use the grant to try to create a way to predict who will benefit from the breast cancer-fighting drug Avastin before it's used.
