New system helps students share class notes online

It's finals week for thousands of Indiana University students, and chances are a few are wishing they had taken better notes in class.

A note-sharing Web site now in beta release seeks to pair the students "who really get it and the students who need help," said Emily Sawtell, founder of GradeGuru.com.

"It's trying to acknowledge those students who work really hard" and help the ones who are struggling, Sawtell said of the Web site.

The site is free, but users must register. Students upload their class notes to the site, and the notes are rated by other students and GradeGuru staff. More quantity and quality equals more points for the note-taker. Points can be turned in at any time for cash or gift cards.
