Across the country, and at Indiana University, investigators are studying whether a blood test can predict mental illness. Researchers drew blood samples from bipolar patients and recorded their mood levels. They were able to identify 10 genes that predicted mood. The test was up to 85% accurate at predicting a high mood and 77% accurate at predicting a low mood.
