IU Kelley School's executive education programs again ranked among world's best by 'Financial Times' -- The executive education provider at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business is No. 1 among all publicly supported, U.S. programs, as ranked by the Financial Times today (May 10) in its annual survey of international non-degree programs. 2010 IU Summer Music Festival includes soprano Angela Brown, USA International Harp Festival, tributes to Schumann and Chopin -- Highlights this year include alumna soprano Angela Brown and the 8th USA International Harp Competition, and the festival also will celebrate the 200th anniversary of composers Robert Schumann and Frederic Chopin's birth. IU's SoFA Gallery to host international traveling exhibition 'Museum of Broken Relationships' -- "The Museum of Broken Relationships," which was featured in the New York Times in February, features an array of bad relationship relics from across the globe. The Kinsey Institute Juried Art Show 2010: A contemporary look at sex and gender -- Artists from 24 states and three other countries will display their artwork beginning on May 28 in The Kinsey Institute Juried Art Show 2010, held for the second year in the School of Fine Arts Gallery at Indiana University Bloomington. J Thomas Forbes chosen as head of IU Alumni Association -- Indiana University President Michael A. McRobbie announced today (May 10) that he has selected J Thomas Forbes to become executive director of the Indiana University Alumni Association. Forbes will begin his new duties on June 1. Indiana University law professors comment on Kagan nomination -- President Obama May 10 nominated Solicitor General Elena Kagan to the U.S. Supreme Court. Kagan was the first woman to serve as dean in Harvard Law School's 186-year old history and the first woman to serve as solicitor general, the lawyer who represents the United States government before the Supreme Court. Law professors at the Indiana University Maurer School of Law-Bloomington and the Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis are available to comment. Read the complete story.

State schools superintendent honors alumni as top teachers -- Four graduates from Indiana University received honors as "Outstanding Hoosier Educators" in a ceremony on Thursday, May 6, at the Indiana Statehouse. Results for Friday, May 7:
Baseball: The Indiana baseball team jumped out to a quick 9-0 lead and then held on in the closing innings for an 11-9 win over first-place Northwestern on Friday at Rocky Miller Park. Read the game notes.
Women's Track: Indiana showed off just how fast the new Billy Hayes Track can be in the new surface's first meet, the Billy Hayes Invitational. IU got a new track record from Molly Beckwith, a school record from Faith Sherrill and seven event wins. Read the complete results.
Men's Track: The Hoosiers took the men's 4x100m relay with a time of 40.36. That is the best time by an IU squad in three years and is just .01 seconds out of the top-10 times in school history. Read the complete results.
Women's Golf: the Indiana women's golf team dropped one spot to 17th after posting a round of 328 on day two of the NCAA Women's Golf Central Regional being contested at the Otter Creek Golf Course in Columbus, Ind. Read the complete results.

Baseball: Alex Dickerson went 2-for-4 with his 20th home run of the season, but defensive miscues and an early hole proved too much for the Indiana baseball team to overcome in an 11-4 loss to Northwestern. Read the game notes.
Softball: The IU Softball team jumped out an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning and redshirt senior Monica Wright made it stand in a 3-2 Indiana victory at the Varsity Softball Complex. Read the game notes.
Women's Golf: The Indiana women's golf team wrapped up the 2009-10 season with an 18th-place finish at the NCAA Women's Golf Central Regional at Otter Creek Golf Course in Columbus, Ind. Read the complete results.

Results for Sunday, May 9:
Softball: Indiana (12-35, 4-13 Big Ten) earned a weekend split at Purdue (27-25, 8-8 Big Ten) after the Boilermakers came away with a 5-0 victory at the Varsity Softball Complex. Indiana freshman Breanna Saucedo was 2-for-4 to pace the IU offense. Read the game notes.
Baseball: The duo of Matt Carr and Chris Squires combined for a four-hit shutout as the Indiana baseball team took a 1-0 victory over Northwestern on Sunday to win the series with the Wildcats two games to one. Read the game notes.

Ceremonies honor graduate achievements
Indiana Daily Student, May 9 -- The 2010 graduating class of IU came from far and wide, but they now all have something in common -- they are alumni of IU. With parents, friends and professors looking on, undergraduate students celebrated Saturday at two similar commencement ceremonies in Assembly Hall. Full story.

3 Indiana colleges propose MBA-style training for public school principals
The Republic, May 9 -- Three Indiana universities are planning programs that will bring new business-style training to principals in public schools. The MBA-type programs at the University of Notre Dame, Marian University and Indiana University would include courses in systemic thinking, change management and statistical analysis that supporters say school administrators need today. Indiana physics student gets $151,000 for research
Wsbt.com, May 7 -- An Indiana University physics graduate student has won a $151,000 federal grant to continue his studies of unusual particles in the universe known as antimatter. The 3-year grant from the U.S. Department of Energy will allow Daniel Salvat to further his education and research into what are called ultra-cold neutrons. Full story.

ABCNews.com, May 6 -- Forty-five years ago, a sleepy Keith Richards was playing his guitar and a riff stuck in his head, so he took his tape player and recorded the riff along with the words, "I can't get no satisfaction."
