"Jim has been a valuable consulting member of the Investment Committee, and we are delighted that he has agreed to serve the IU Foundation board in this new role," said IU Foundation president Gene Tempel. "His investment expertise makes him a great addition to our board."

Hodge joined the Permal Group, one of the oldest and largest alternative asset management firms in the world, in 1987. As chairman of its Investment Committee, he is responsible for asset allocation as well as performance monitoring, research and analysis of fund managers. In addition, he serves as director, alternate director, or member of the advisory board for a number of independent offshore investment funds.

Hodge graduated with highest distinction from the IU Kelley School of Business in 1974. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and is a CPA in the state of New Jersey. Prior to joining the Permal Group, he spent four years with the New York Stock Exchange, where he held a number of positions culminating in director of cost accounting, and four years as controller of Biolectron Inc., a privately held medical products company. He is a member of the National Executive Service Corps of New York's Board of Directors and an ex-officio member of the NESC of Miami's board serving on the financial/auditing committee.

A lifetime member of the IU Alumni Association, Hodge serves on the Kelley School of Business Dean's Council and is a member of the IU Foundation President's Circle and 1820 Society. While a student at IU Bloomington, he was a member of Sigma Pi Fraternity and the IU Student Foundation. He is affiliated with the Metro New York Chapter of the IU Alumni Association.
