PITTSFORD, N.Y. -- Indiana rising senior Chase Wright fired a 3-under 67 in the final round of the 2011 Monroe Invitational Championship on Saturday, June 18 at Monroe Golf Club and finished runner-up in the 78-man field after falling in the second playoff hole to Albin Choi of North Carolina State.

Wright was impressive throughout the weekend, ending the four-round tournament with a 9-under 271 (68-71-65-67). However a bogey on the 72nd hole coupled with a Choi birdie sent the pair into a playoff. After both players parred the 18th hole to start the playoff, Choi would par it the second time around, while Wright missed his four-footer to extend the extra session.

Wright recorded 20 birdies throughout the event, including seven en route to a third-round 65, which tied for low round of the tournament. The Muncie, Ind. native continued to play rock solid golf in the final round, making birdie on five of the first 12 holes and not recording a bogey until the 11th.

Indiana rising junior Brant Peaper and rising senior David Erdy each also competed in the event. Peaper tied for 28th after finishing at 7-over (75-69-72-71---287), while Erdy posted a 13-over 293 (75-74-73-71) to tie for 53rd.
