Auxin begins to give up its secrets

Auxin controls the growth of plants and their interactions with their environment, but only now are researchers understanding the basics of this hormone. In papers published simultaneously in Nature, professors at the Univerity of York and Mark Estelle of Indiana University Bloomington showed that auxin binds directly to a protein called TIR1.
