Beckley boosted IU alumni group

Ken Beckley has been a TV anchorman in Indianapolis, a business executive, a star of TV commercials and, for the last five years, the president and chief executive officer of the Indiana University Alumni Association, one of the nation's largest. Did we mention the 1962 IU grad was a friend of Bob Knight for many years? Or that he grew up in Warrick County, Ind., playing guard for the Lynnville Lindies in 1957 during the first regional high school basketball tournament ever held at Roberts Stadium? "We were so intimidated," he chuckles, recalling the crowd and size of Evansville's brand new basketball facility. "I think our school had only 110 students. We lost in the afternoon game to Dale, which had a player (Roger Kaiser) who later became an All-American at Georgia Tech."
