News conference scheduled to discuss presidential transition at IU
Editors: Indiana University's Board of Trustees will quickly develop transition plans and initiate a search to find a successor for IU President Myles Brand, who Thursday (Oct. 10) accepted the presidency of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Frederick F. Eichhorn, Jr., president of the IU Board of Trustees, will conduct a news conference at 1:30 p.m. CDT today (Oct. 11) to discuss the beginning of this process and to offer reflections on Brand's legacy as president of IU.
The news conference will take place at in room 216 of the University Place Conference Center on the campus of Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis, 850 W. Michigan St. Arrangements have been made to accommodate electronic media covering the news conference.
President Brand will be available at 11:15 a.m. CDT Friday in telephone news conference to discuss his decision. Media may listen and ask questions by calling 801-303-7451.
