NASDAQ's Simmons and former SEC chief Levitt available to reporters
EDITORS: Arrangements have been made for media covering Wednesday's (March 5) Indiana University Business Conference, "Who Do You Trust? The Crisis in Corporate Governance," at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. The 57th annual conference is organized by IU's Kelley School of Business.
Karen Gibbs, co-host of "Wall Street Week with Fortune"; Arthur Levitt, former chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission; J. George Mikelsons, founder, chairman, president and chief executive officer of ATA Holdings; and Hardwick "Wick" Simmons, chairman and CEO of The NASDAQ Stock Market Inc., will be conference speakers.
Media availabilities have been scheduled and will be held in the conference's media room, located in Room 212 of the Convention Center. Levitt will meet with reporters at 10 a.m., following his 9 a.m. presentation. Simmons will meet with reporters at 2 p.m., following the luncheon.
All of the presentations are open for media coverage, and we invite you to cover part or all of the conference. Arrangements have been made for electronic media, both in conference sessions and at the media availabilities.
A limited number of seats have been reserved for media who wish to eat at the luncheon where Mikelsons will speak.

The conference schedule is as follows:
- At 9 a.m., Levitt will speak on the subject, "Corporate Leadership Post-Enron." From his unique perspective, Levitt will discuss the public responsibilities of the private sector in the wake of the corporate scandals of the past year.
- At 10 a.m., Gibbs will present "Navigating Today's Tumultuous Financial Markets." The veteran financial journalist will offer advice on effective investor strategies for dealing with the uncertainty and opportunity inherent in the contemporary financial marketplace.
- At 11 a.m., Simmons will present "Whither the Markets, Investor Confidence and the Banking and Financial Services Community? The Effect of the Ongoing Crisis in Corporate Governance." Simmons will discuss the effects of the continuing corporate governance crisis on the markets, investor confidence and the investment banking/financial services community. He also will discuss the relationship between corporate boards and CEOs.
- At approximately 12:30 p.m., Mikelsons will offer his thoughts on the key elements of responsible executive and corporate conduct necessary to restore investor confidence and preclude further government regulation.
