IU dance marathon raises $1.3M for Riley

The Indiana University Dance Marathon raised a record $1,376,550.23 from this year's event, which ended this morning at 8 a.m., officials said. Last year, about 850 dancers, 350 student committee members, 500 volunteers and alumni participants from IU raised $1,041,197 for Riley Hospital for Children, according to an e-mail release from Jason Mueller, Riley's communications manager. The event is the nation's largest dance marathon affiliated with Children's Miracle Network, Mueller said, adding that the marathon is the flagship event for the Riley Dance Marathon Program.
