Cardboard Boat Regatta 2010

Indiana University's traditional Cardboard Boat Regatta was held Sept. 24, 2010. IU students, deans and community members created boats from cardboard and duct tape and then attempted to paddle them across the IU Outdoor Pool. The event was supported by the IUSA Funding Board, the IU Outdoor Pool, the Center for Student Leadership Development and other local businesses.

Bailey Catt and Katie Kapelsohn drop the oars and use their hands to paddle themselves across the pool.

Jo Taylor and Elaine Synder of the IU Physics Club practice their rowing on the pool deck.

Matt Auer, Dean of the Hutton Honors College, makes his way across the pool.

Emily Kapelsohn and Celina German sported Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle costumes during the race.

Sigma Phi Epsilon members Matt Zetzl and Alec Peterson reach the finish line.

Team SAA brings it home and wins the final heat to cheers.
