Outdoor Summer Concerts

The Musical Arts Center on the IU Bloomington campus continued its annual outdoor band concerts during summer 2008. The concerts, which exhibited featured soloists and conductors, drew hundreds of listeners to each show on the MAC lawn.

Two concert goers put in a little light reading at the concert. Listeners of all ages packed the lawn in front of the MAC for a few hours of marches, popular favorites, solos and light classics.

A trio of euphonium players, led by featured soloist, Aaron Tindall (right), lead the set.

Guest conductor Polly Middleton, a masters student in Wind Conducting and horn player in the summer concert band, leads the symphonic band.

The outdoor show drew large crowds, and the music drifting across Jordan Avenue attracted the attention of passersby.

Oboists in the IU Symphonic Band soothe the eager crowd with music.
