This IU Bloomington geologist Lisa Pratt went several kilometers below the earth's surface to study the possibility of life forms existing in implausible locations. What she found was a community of organisms that thrive in seemingly unbelievable places, a finding that has meaning in relation to the search for life on Mars and other planets.
