Welcome to IU

As move-in day begins at Indiana University Bloomington, students swarm residence halls -- like Foster -- to find their rooms. Before classes start, residents enjoy the campus with picnics, fairs and cultural events.

IU President Michael McRobbie (second from left) poses with Teter Residence Hall staff as they prepare to welcome new and returning students.

Freshmen and their families enjoy a picnic on the lawn of the president's home following the Freshman Induction ceremony.

At the Taste of the Union, students have the opportunity to try coffee and treats from Sugar and Spice, one of nine snack shops and eateries in the Indiana Memorial Union.

Students enjoy bowling, billards and video games at the Back Alley during Taste of the Union.

At the annual Culture Fest celebration outside the IU Auditorium, students enjoy food, music and other entertainment from around the world.

Dancers with IU's Hip Hop Congress, one of more than 650 student groups at IU, entertain students at Culture Fest.

During Traditions and Spirit of IU, students learn cheers and the IU Fight Song at Assembly Hall.

At Freshman Induction, IU President McRobbie officially welcomes students and their families to campus.
