African literature expert Eileen Julien to direct IU's Institute for Advanced Study

Eileen Julien, professor of French and comparative literature in the College of Arts and Sciences at Indiana University Bloomington, has been appointed the new director of the Institute for Advanced Study. Julien, who joined the IU Bloomington faculty in 1992, has a distinguished career in research and writing that explores the connections between Africa, Europe and the Americas.   Full Story >>

IU Bloomington junior David Bloom receives 2013 Palmer-Brandon Prize in the Humanities

Indiana University junior David Bloom has received the 2013 Palmer-Brandon Prize in the Humanities, one of the most prestigious awards given by the College of Arts and Sciences. The $20,000 Palmer-Brandon Prize is given annually to outstanding full-time College of Arts and Sciences humanities majors to support their continued academic, scholarly and creative pursuits.   Full Story >>

College of Arts and Sciences moves to Owen Hall, administrative offices open March 19

The Office of the Dean of the Indiana University College of Arts and Sciences is packing and labeling boxes this week, preparing to move to Owen Hall, just steps north of its current home in Kirkwood Hall.
