Themester focuses on 'Connectedness: Networks in a Complex World' for fall 2013

The 2013 Themester initiative's theme is "Connectedness: Networks in a Complex World," the College of Arts and Sciences has announced. Each year, Themester invites faculty and undergraduate students to explore an idea across the disciplines through a variety of courses and events. College of Arts and Sciences moves to Owen Hall, administrative offices open March 19

The Office of the Dean of the Indiana University College of Arts and Sciences is packing and labeling boxes this week, preparing to move to Owen Hall, just steps north of its current home in Kirkwood Hall. Academy Award-winning costume designer James Acheson to visit IU Cinema

What do Spidey's iconic red and blue suit, the elaborate dresses of 18th century France and a Time Lord's unforgettable striped scarf have in common? All three were costumes created by three-time Academy Award-winning designer James Acheson, who will visit IU's Bloomington campus this month to deliver a Jorgensen Guest Filmmaker Lecture at IU Cinema. IU Bloomington awards fellowships for new courses on sustainability

Winning design announced for official IU plaid

It's official: Indiana University now has its own plaid. Linda Xiong, a senior majoring in apparel merchandising and fashion design in the IU College of Arts and Sciences, created the winning design. Her entry received the most votes among four designs in an online poll that ended Feb. 21. The winning design will now be licensed and trademarked through Indiana University as the university's official plaid, representing all campuses. Apparel merchandising undergraduate students will use the official plaid to design new products each year, and will make every effort to work with fair trade and eco-friendly vendors. Full Story >>
