Maurer School of Law endowed chair in legal ethics honors practitioner

David Henry Jacobs Jr., an entrepreneur with close ties to the Maurer School of Law, has made a $1.5 million gift to the school to establish the John E. Schiller Chair in Legal Ethics. Schiller is a business litigation lawyer with the Cleveland firm of Walter & Haverfield LLP. Full Story >>

Law School to be named in honor of alumnus and benefactor Michael S. Maurer

Hundreds of university leaders, students, and alumni are expected to be on hand Friday (Sept. 25) for the official naming of the Indiana University Michael Maurer School of Law. The ceremony will coincide with the Law School's second annual Alumni Summit and celebrate a $35 million gift from Michael and Janie Maurer the Law School received last December. Full Story >>

Alumni honored by induction into ALAF

Five alumni from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law were inducted Friday (April 17) into the School's Academy of Law Alumni Fellows. Two other alumni were awarded President's Medals from the IU Foundation. Induction into the ALAF is the highest honor the Law School bestows upon its graduates, in recognition of personal achievements and dedication to the highest standards of the legal profession. Hunt donates $2 million for scholarships at Indiana Law

A $2 million gift from Indiana University School of Law--Bloomington alumnus Bill Hunt and his wife Nancy will be used to provide scholarship funds for students working toward a law degree at Indiana Law.

$69 million Lilly gift to increase excellence of law, music schools

Indiana University President Michael McRobbie announced today (Dec. 12) that Lilly Endowment is giving the IU Foundation two major gifts, totaling $69 million, to secure the international standing of the IU Jacobs School of Music, provide its world-class music faculty and students with a state-of-the-art studio facility and propel the IU School of Law-Bloomington to the upper echelon of public university law schools.
