Indiana University's famed Marching Hundred has taken a significant step toward its goal of constructing a new practice facility, thanks to a recent commitment of $1 million in a planned gift from university alumnus Col. Jack I. Hamlin (BS '43) and wife Dora. The Hamlins met as students at IU, where Hamlin was first chair cornet in the Hundred and captain of his ROTC band unit. † Full Story >>

IUís Marching Hundred receives key gift for new practice facility

With a tradition of performances traced to as early at 1896, Indiana University's famed Marching Hundred band has taken a significant step toward its goal of constructing a new practice facility, thanks to a recent commitment of $1 million in a planned gift from IU alumnus Col. IU Jacobs School of Music announces Canadian Brass Collection

The Indiana University Jacobs School of Music's William and Gayle Cook Music Library and the Canadian Brass recently announced an agreement to build and maintain a comprehensive collection of all of the quintet's recordings and published scores, eventually adding a number of its unpublished works. The items in The Canadian Brass Collection will be available for students and faculty to study, check out, listen to and perform, unlike other "special collections" held by the library, which are archival. † Full Story >>
