Supporting women on campus

IU Bloomington announced that it has launched a new initiative led by the campus's Division of Student Affairs designed to improve the effectiveness of student services and advocacy on gender issues. "This is just the first in a series of actions we intend to take to create a safe, supportive and empowering climate for all women on the IU Bloomington campus," said Interim Provost and Executive Vice President Lauren Robel.

25th running of the women's Little 500 will be 'under the lights' April 20 at IU Bloomington

Little 500

From four sorority members training in the basement of their house to competitive cycling on the same terms as the men, the women's Little 500 has become an important event at Indiana University Bloomington. IU Office for Women's Affairs to address work-life policies through conference, workshop Nov. 11

Constructing our Future

Indiana University Bloomington's Office for Women's Affairs (OWA) will host its annual conference, this year titled "Empowering Women in the Workplace," Friday, Nov. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Indiana Memorial Union's Frangipani Room. (This conference is sold out.) Also Nov. 11, a separate workshop, "Constructing Our Future: Exploring the Values, Strategic Processes and Change Mechanisms of Work-Life Policies," will be presented by OWA, the Inter-Campus Coalition for the Advancement of Women and the Office of the IU Bloomington Provost and Executive Vice President. UC Davis professor to present lecture on thermodynamics, geochemistry and materials science career

Professor Alexandra Navrotsky of UC Davis will present a lecture titled "A Career in Thermodynamics, Geochemistry and Materials Science" Wednesday, Oct. 19, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Chemistry C122. The lecture is presented by the IU Office for Women's Affairs. "Nanoparticles are everywhere," Navrotsky said. "You eat them, drink them, breathe them, pay to have them -- and pay even more to get rid of them." Full Story >>
