IU Southeast to open annual graduating BFA exhibition
IU Southeast and the department of Fine Arts will open the annual graduating Bachelor of Fine Arts exhibition on April 11, 2006, with a reception on April 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Ronald L. Barr Gallery located in the Ogle Cultural and Community Center lobby. The exhibition, entitled "Room 26: Two guys, a girl, and a printmaker," will feature the creative work of Robby Davis, Joe Vance and Diana Hatchitt all from New Albany, and Kiersten Nash of Louisville.
Davis, Vance and Nash, who will be receiving BFA degrees in graphic design, will exhibit works created in that discipline, from posters to identity packages. Nash and Davis will also be exhibiting installation projects with a sculptural approach. Hatchitt, who will receive a BFA in printmaking, will exhibit a suite of mezzotint prints.
This is the second graduating class from the relative new BFA program at IU Southeast. The IU Southeast Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree program offers challenging individual majors in painting, drawing, graphic design media, ceramics, and printmaking, which includes a variety of media such as silkscreen, lithography, relief and etching. The BFA Degree Program is for professionally oriented students and those planning to pursue graduate level work in the studio arts. Admission to the program is selective with a limited number of openings in each of the five concentration areas so as to provide students who are admitted to the program with the maximum access to faculty, courses and facilities.
