Indiana University is seeking its 18th president. Adam W. Herbert has announced his desire to leave office no later than July 31, 2008, and the Board of Trustees is embarking upon a national search to identify the most outstanding and qualified candidates for the presidency. Trustees will be seeking a person of high intellectual distinction, with proven qualities of leadership, a devotion to excellence in education and research, a capacity to guide a complex institution through a time of significant change, and a dedication to the ideals and values central to a community of learning.
