Hutton gave IU reason to celebrate

Wednesday, at the corner of Seventh Street and Woodlawn Avenue in Bloomington, IU officials and Bedford native Edward Hutton laid the cornerstone on a $3.6 million Hutton Honors College facility.

"He has a passion to give students the opportunity to broaden their cultural studies," Michael McRobbie, IU's new president, said of the Bedford native. "His effect on students' lives is immeasurable."

In 2003, Hutton contributed $9 million to IU to establish an endowment for the International Experiences Program. He is also paying construction costs for the new building.
