Report puts IU among nation's top in private fundraising

Indiana University says its private grants and donations grew by about 12 percent last year to nearly $279 million. According to the New York-based Council for Aid to Education, IU's level of private support ranked 19th overall nationally and fourth among the Big Ten schools. The money includes $107 million in private research grants awarded to IU faculty members and $24 million given through IU's Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.
