Riley receives $50,000 grant for early college program

Riley High School has received a $50,000 planning grant to establish an early college high school program. Formal announcement of the grant from the National Governors Association Early College Planning program was made Friday at Riley by Principal Edward Bradford. Also participating in the announcement were officials from Indiana University Bloomington School of Education, Ivy Tech Community College, Indiana University South Bend and the city of South Bend, who are all partners in the program with the South Bend Community School Corp.

The Riley Early College High School will target students who normally may not be exposed to college or to thinking of attending and who may have other barriers, Bradford said.
