FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 16, 2009

WHAT: FutureFirm will bring together in-house lawyers, law firm partners and managers, and firm associates and law students in teams. Four of the 10 teams will each take the reins of a fictional American law firm. The other six will represent either clients or young lawyers and recent law school graduates. The partner teams develop strategies to align with a client and graduate team. The teams then combine to collaborate and refine their strategy to build the ultimate 21st century law firm. Judges will hear presentations from the teams, and eventually award $15,000 in prize money, courtesy of Hildebrandt International Inc., one of the competition's main sponsors.

WHO: Real in-house lawyers, law firm partners and managers, and associates and law students from all over the country will participate. The event is being organized by Indiana University Law Professor Bill Henderson and Anthony Kearns, national risk manager for the Legal Practitioners Liability Committee, the professional liability insurer for Australian legal practitioners.

WHEN: Final team presentations begin at 9 a.m. on Sunday, April 19, with the announcement of the winner scheduled for 11:30 a.m.

WHERE: Sunday's events take place in the Frangipani Room of the Indiana Memorial Union, 900 E. Seventh St., Bloomington.

MORE INFORMATION: Additional information about FutureFirm 1.0, including the organizing memo and case problem, is available online at The Law Firms Working Group Web site.
