FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Aug. 24, 2007

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University Bloomington's residence halls open at 8 a.m., Wednesday (Aug. 26), for Student Move-In Day, marking the beginning of Welcome Week 2009. While fall classes don't begin until Monday, Aug. 31, this year's 7,000 new IU students will have plenty of activities to keep them occupied this week.

New students and parents will be available for media interviews in the vicinity of McNutt, Briscoe and Foster residence halls at Fee Lane and 17th Street. IU administrators -- including President Michael McRobbie and Provost and Executive Vice President Karen Hanson -- will be on hand to greet students and their families in the same area.
