BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- All Indiana University students are invited to attend the 2009 IU Student Involvement Fair Wed., Sept. 9, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Indiana Memorial Union hotel parking lot near Woodburn and Ballantine halls.

At the fair, students can meet current IU student leaders, IU administrators and Bloomington community members from more than 250 campus organizations, local non-profit agencies and IU offices.

Some of the student organizations represented will be College Mentors for Kids, the Real Estate Club, Foot Notes Tap Dance Group, the Muslim Student Union and representatives from many Greek organizations.

Local non-profit agencies such as Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Indiana, El Centro Comunal Latino, Fair Trade Bloomington, the South Central Community Action Program, WonderLab Museum, My Sister's Closet and Volunteers in Medicine will also be represented with information about volunteer opportunities.

WIUX, the IU student radio station, will broadcast live from the event, playing "pure student radio" throughout. In addition, attendees will receive a free spiral notebook and goodie-bags from local radio station B97.

The 2009 IU Student Involvement Fair is sponsored by a committee including representatives from Student Activities, the Indiana Memorial Union, Union Board, the Commission on Multicultural Understanding, the Office of First Year Experience Programs and the Office of Diversity Education. It is further supported by the Office of Service Learning and student volunteers.
