A $1.7 million gift from Guidant Foundation will act like a time machine for biomedical engineering at IUPUI. IU trustees approve student athletics fee for one year
IU trustees last Friday (May 7) approved a $30 student athletics fee that will remain in place for one year while a long-term plan is developed to reduce a deficit in the university's athletics department. The trustees also agreed they would not increase student ticket prices or reduce the amount of student seating available for basketball games during the one-year period. The athletics fee proposal was approved following a wide-ranging discussion among trustees about how to reduce a $5 million athletics department deficit that is increasing each fiscal year by about $2 million.
