IU Staff Appreciation Day April 21 at noon
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 12, 2011
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University's Office for Women's Affairs will host a Staff Appreciation Day reception and craft exhibition for IU staff members. The event will take place April 21, from noon to 1:30 p.m., at the Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center, and is hosted in partnership with IU Human Resource Services, CWA, Bloomington Professional Council, IU Working Moms and the Office of Multicultural Initiatives.
Office for Women's Affairs Dean Yvette Alex-Assensoh said the groups are working together to remind the IU community of staff members' daily contributions to the ongoing success of the university, for work both seen and unseen that facilitates learning, research, success and well-being on campus. During the event, IU staff members will have the opportunity to exhibit their hobbies and talents.
Last year, almost 50 male and female staff members participated in the event, with demonstrations that ranged from chocolate houses to jewelry, quilts and photography.
Many staff members who exhibited last year said they found the event rewarding because it provided an opportunity to showcase their talents and to see the talents of other IU employees. All IU staff members are encouraged to participate in this event, which is free.
