Media advisory: IU Cancer Center Beam Topping Celebration

EDITORS: On Friday (Sept. 29) at 3 p.m., the Indiana University School of Medicine and Clarian Health will hold the IU Cancer Center Beam Topping Celebration at the Indiana Cancer Pavilion, 535 N. Barnhill Dr., in Indianapolis.There will be photo opportunities including beam signing throughout the day. Please contact one of the listed media contacts for more information. The beam will be lifted into place between 3:30 p.m.-3:45 p.m. Key speakers will be available at 2:45 p.m. for one-on-one interviews. Media parking is along the west side of Barnhill Drive, due north of Michigan Street. Media are invited to use the Vermont Street Garage, south side of Michigan Street, to shoot photographs of the beam placement.
The Indiana University School of Medicine and Clarian Health will celebrate their collaborative effort to provide the most advanced care to cancer patients in Indiana when they place the top steel beam of the IU Cancer Center expansion. IU Cancer Center is Indiana's only National Cancer Institute-designated center that provides patient care.
The Masters of Ceremony will be Stephen D. Williams, M.D., director, IU Cancer Center, and Fuad Hammoudeh, MBA, administrator, Clarian Cancer Program. Remarks will be made by Patrick Loehrer, M.D., medical director, IU Cancer Center; D. Craig Brater, M.D., dean, IU School of Medicine; and Daniel Evans, president & CEO, Clarian Health Partners.
