Media advisory: IU experts available to discuss Bush tax-cut plan
EDITORS: President George W. Bush is scheduled to visit Indianapolis and will speak on Tuesday (May 13) as part of a three-state campaign to gain support for his tax-cut package. Below is information about two experts at Indiana University who are available to discuss Bush's plan and related economic issues.
-- Kurt Zorn is associate dean and a professor at the IU School of Public and Environmental Affairs. His areas of expertise include finance and economics, and he chaired Indiana Gov. Frank O'Bannon's Citizens Commission on Taxes in 1997. He served as the chair of the Indiana State Board of Tax Commissioners from 1991 to 1994 and has consulted for the U.S. Department of Commerce. -- Phillip T. Powell is a clinical associate professor of business economics and public policy in IU's Kelley School of Business at Indianapolis.
