'Song Tapestry' CD Signing July 15

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 13, 2010

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- There will be a CD signing of Song Tapestry this Thursday, July 15, from 5 p.m.-6 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music Development/Marketing Offices on the ground floor of the Music Practice Building at 1124 E. Third St .

Released on the IUMusic label, Song Tapestry is a collection of songs and song cycles by Jacobs School composers Sven-David Sandstrom, Don Freund, P. Q. Phan, Emile Naoumoff, Edwin Penhorwood, David Baker, Marian Harrison and Thomas Beversdorf sung by Patricia Stiles.

Song Tapestry is a unique collection of songs, either in English, French, Swedish, or translated into English from Japanese and Vietnamese. The elements are drawn from many different cultures yet woven here into a single tapestry. Almost all of the songs have their first recorded appearance on Song Tapestry.

Composers and collaborators on hand to sign CDs will be Sven-David Sandstrom, P. Q. Phan, Edwin Penhorwood, Norma Beversdorf (wife of Thomas Beversdorf, deceased), Patricia Stiles, Konrad Strauss (producer of the CD), Priscilla Borges (designer of the booklet), and Anita Bracalente (artist of the beadwork pictured on the booklet cover).

The public is welcome. CDs will be available for purchase, and refreshments will be served.
