IU honored with several CASE awards for communications projects

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University, IU Communications, the IU Alumni Association, IU Foundation, IUPUI, IU East and IU Southeast received myriad awards from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education District V for several projects, including videos, advertising campaigns and special events.

"These awards speak to the excellence of the communications efforts of Indiana University," IU Creative Services director Rebecca Salerno said. "We are fortunate to have a talented staff, committed partnerships with IU staff and faculty and so many interesting and engaging stories to tell about Indiana University."

While a complete list is available online, the following IU projects received gold awards:

  • Best Practices in Alumni Relations, 10,000 FTE and Up: Indiana University Alumni Association for its "Programs in a Box," which gives volunteers tools needed to execute effective programming.
  • Best Student Alumni Programming: Indiana University Department of Telecommunications for MultiVisions Communications Conference.
  • Best New Alumni Program: IU East for Reconnect 2012.
  • Best Video/DVD/CD-ROM, Fundraising, Alumni Relations or Commercial Spots: Indiana University for IU Extraordinary Alumni.
  • Teresa Du Bois Exline Award for Best Practices in Communications and Marketing, 10,000 FTE and up: Indiana University for 113 Days of Art campaign.
  • Gold Award for Best Web Site, Individual Page or Section: Indiana University for IU Communications website.
  • Excellence in Print Advertising: Indiana University for "Street Smart" ads.
  • Best Annual Report: Indiana University for Advanced Networking Initiatives at Indiana University.
  • Best Viewbook: Indiana University Bloomington Admissions/Your Epic Adventure.
  • Photo Essay: IU Foundation for Little Violins, Big Impact.
  • Excellence in Special Events, Series of Events: IU Southeast for the 70th Anniversary of Indiana University Southeast: Celebrating the Past, Shaping the Future.

Indiana University and the IU Foundation also received nine silver and bronze medals in various categories.

The Council for Advancement and Support of Education is the professional organization for university advancement professionals who work in alumni relations, communications, fundraising, marketing and other areas. Indiana University is part of CASE District V, a district-level program that puts members in competition with colleagues from other institutions in the Midwest.
