"Our two-hour workshops are designed to foster awareness and appreciation of the global community," said Melanie Castillo-Cullather, the ACC's director. "A single program showcases one Asian ethnic culture -- which participants get to choose in advance -- and features fun and interactive activities, including hands-on arts and crafts, traditional games, exploring music and language, and cooking demonstrations."

The ACC's Culture Camp welcomes individual and group visits (up to 15 children per group). Registration already has begun and those who sign up early are given preference to the workshops they can participate in. Sessions are held in the mornings from 10 a.m. to noon, and in the afternoons from 2 to 4 p.m.

To register a child or group, contact Danny Nguyen at and provide contact information and details about those who will be participating and their ages, the name of their organization (if applicable) and preferred dates. Also mention which ethnic program they are interested in -- Japan, China, Korea, Philippines, Vietnam, India or Mongolia. People can choose up to two culture camp sessions.

All camp programs will be will be held at the ACC, 807 E. 10th St. For additional information, call 812-856-5361.
