IU license plates fund scholarships for 28 IUAA Scholars

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Indiana University Alumni Association Scholars program, now in its 15th year, has awarded 28 scholarships for the coming academic year valued at $1,000 to IU students. Each recipient is the son or daughter of an IUAA member.

IU License Plate

One scholarship is designated for a qualifying applicant from each of IU's eight campuses, and the remaining awards are given on an at-large basis. Scholarships are granted based on academic achievement and financial need.

This year's scholarship recipients are:

  • Aaron Agley, a freshman at IU Bloomington, from Glen Arm, Md.
  • Maxwell Anderson, a junior at IU Bloomington, from South Bend, Ind.
  • Bradley Bennett, a junior at IU Bloomington, from Bloomington, Ind.
  • Cathrine Brattain, a freshman at IU Bloomington, from Cambridge City, Ind.
  • Sean Brown, a freshman at IU Bloomington, from Wheaton, Ill.
  • Michael Buoniconti, a sophomore at IU Bloomington, from Wheaton, Ill.
  • Jonica Cantu, a sophomore at IU Kokomo, from Converse, Ind.
  • Christopher Dessent, a sophomore at IU Bloomington, from Deerfield, Ill.
  • Annette DiTommaso, a sophomore at IU Bloomington, from Mason, Ohio
  • Marianthi Hatzigeorgiou, a sophomore at IU Bloomington, from Fort Wayne, Ind.
  • Grace Heatherington-Tilka, a freshman at IU Bloomington, from Stillwater, Minn.
  • Nicholas Jacobs, a sophomore at IU Bloomington, from Bloomington, Ind.
  • Justin Kleifield, a freshman at IU Bloomington, from Glencoe, Ill.
  • Brad Koszuta, a freshman at IU Bloomington, from Niceville, Fla.
  • Megan Krumm, a sophomore at IU Northwest, from Schererville, Ind.

  • Rachel Ritter, a freshman at IUPUI, from Jeffersonville, Ind.
  • Daniel Roberts, a senior at IUPUI, from Lanesville, Ind.
  • Rebecca Russell, a freshman at IU Bloomington, from Indianapolis
  • Heather Sexton, a junior at IU Bloomington, from Bloomington, Ind.
  • Julienne Turner, a senior at IU South Bend, from Goshen, Ind.
  • Morgan Uhen, a freshman at IU Bloomington, from Fort Wayne, Ind.
  • Kristen Wilkinson, a freshman at IU East, from Cambridge City, Ind.
  • Jaclyn Wise, a sophomore at IU Bloomington, from Valparaiso, Ind.

The IUAA Scholars program is supported by fees collected from the sale of IU's collegiate license plate -- the most popular collegiate plate in Indiana. Available to all Indiana residents, plates can be purchased from the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles. Including this year's scholarships, the IUAA Scholars program has awarded 254 $1,000 scholarships in 15 years. In its history, the IUAA has awarded more than $4 million in scholarships to IU students.
