Indiana Memorial Union to open 24 hours

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- In order to better serve the needs of Indiana University students, certain areas of the Indiana Memorial Union will be open to students 24 hours every day.
The following areas will now be open from 2:00 a.m to 6:00 a.m. for individuals with a valid university ID and hotel guests:
- The hotel lobby
- The Mezzanine level, extending from the Student Technology Center to the East Lounge
- The South Lounge and IMUG of the first floor
Building managers will be responsible for posting signs to indicate closed areas and asking non-university visitors, who are not hotel guests to leave the building during the hours between 2:00-6:00am.
The 24 hour policy should be reviewed in 12 months to gauge whether there has been any negative impact or an increase in safety issues. Adjustments may be made prior, if problems arise.
