"I really believe in this conference," said Lillian Casillas, director of La Casa. "I see the connections that occur among the students across schools and how it helps prepare them to become better leaders in their schools and communities."

The one-day conference is titled "A Call to Action: From Dreams to Realities." This will be the 11th year IU has sponsored the conference and the first year for Ivy Tech to host the event, which is designed to cultivate leadership among Latino students.

Each year, the conference draws more than 350 Latino high school and college students from across Indiana.

The Indiana Latino Leadership Conference promotes scholarship, leadership development and empowerment and provides participating students with a forum in which they can exchange of ideas and discuss shared values.

For more information about the conference or to register online, see https://www.ivytech.edu/northwest/A_ILLC2010/. The fee for students is $10.

Individuals or organizations interested in securing a booth during the conference, may contact Tari Morales at tmorales@indiana.edu or Molly Borneman at mborneman@ivytech.edu. The cost for non-profit organizations (including student groups) is $25 and for for-profit organizations the cost is $50. Booths must be purchased by Feb. 5.
