New Albany-based business development center open house, hosted by IU, Purdue, Ivy Tech, is Monday

NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- The Southeast Indiana Small Business Development Center, a joint operation of Indiana University, Purdue University and Ivy Tech Community College, will have an open house from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday (April 16).
The Southeast ISBDC serves existing and startup businesses in 13 counties in the region and is located at the Purdue Technology Center in New Albany at Charlestown Road and I-265. All lenders, resource partners, city and county officials, clients and small business owners are invited to this event to learn more about the Southeast ISBDC.
The event will include client testimonials, introduction of the ISBDC's business advisors and its management committee, a tour of the facility and information about how to become involved with the Southeast ISBDC. Southeast ISBDC's services include no-cost, confidential business consulting by appointment and low-cost training on topics such as business plan preparation, cash flow analysis and marketing. The Southeast ISBDC will be expanding its training to include QuickBooks workshops and topics like "Is Social Networking Right for Your Business?"
Since 2000 the Southeast ISBDC has assisted more than 2,700 clients in starting 285 businesses, creating 1,247 new jobs and investing over $27.4 million in their local businesses. The Southeast ISBDC has hosted 580 workshops with almost 8,900 attendees.
The Southeast ISBDC is jointly hosted by IU, IvyTech and Purdue University and the regional center is structured to serve small businesses of Southeast Indiana. Instead of operating all staff out of one location, the Southeast ISBDC has five main locations with additional meeting spaces available in each county. In addition to its New Albany headquarters, service centers are staffed with local employees in Columbus, Scottsburg, Madison and Lawrenceburg. Additional sites include Batesville, Corydon and Greensburg with North Vernon to come soon.
