Gas leak at Indiana Memorial Union all clear

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Seventh and Eighth Streets around the Indiana Memorial Union Building in Bloomington were closed briefly around 11 a.m. this morning (June 9) while Vectren officials checked on a reported gas leak. Apparently work crews struck a gas line while working, causing a heavy odor of gas. Vectren arrived on the scene quickly. The leak was controlled. Vectren reported that the gas in the air had dissipated. The streets were reopened at approximately 11:20 a.m.
