IU's Mini University begins

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Mini University, Indiana University's weeklong continuing-education program for adults of all ages, will begin Sunday (June 20) and continue through June 25.
Attendees choose 15 courses from more than 100 titles, all taught by some of the best faculty at IU. They learn in a relaxed setting without the pressure of exams. Frommer's Budget Travel magazine has named IU's Mini University as one of the nine best learning vacations in America. The program, now in its 33rd year, also is profiled in the current issue of Indianapolis Monthly magazine.
This year's diverse set of courses includes titles such as "Bill Blass: An American Designer's Legacy," "Musical Journeys: Around the World with a Red Bassoon," "Why America Isn't Europe," "Free Speech and the Internet," "Do You Hear What I Hear? Hearing Loss and Aging," "Democrat or Republican: What's the Difference in 2004?," "Great Choreographers and their Muses," "DNA: Forensic Science Changed Forever" and "Facts About Fad Diets."
In addition to the courses, the week's activities will include picnics, films, tours, discussions and a theater outing. Attendees also enjoy the campus pools, tennis courts and other recreational facilities and attractions.
