IU center launches resource Web site for people who provide care for young children in Indiana

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Indiana Child Care Health Consultant Program at Indiana University Bloomington today (Jan. 18) announced a new Web site designed to assist people who provide care for young children in Indiana.

The Web site -- located at https://www.iu.edu/~cchealth -- provides resources that include free access to health and safety fact sheets, community health care resources, and up-to-date information on the latest guidelines, policies and regulations in Indiana. Providers of child care can also link to local, state and national agencies and organizations that provide support and services as well as printable resources for staff, child and parent education.

An "FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions" link is updated frequently to answer common concerns in the field of child care as they arise.

Additionally, the Web site provides contacts for health consultant services. Regional consultants across Indiana conduct free assessments of health and safety needs in the child-care setting and provide technical assistance and staff training through on-site visits, e-mail and phone consultations. Child-care health consultants are a resource for the child-care provider, the children in their care and their families. The consultants collaborate with local, regional and state agencies in order to assist in providing for continuity of services and referrals.

The Indiana Child Care Health Consultant Program is a project of the Early Childhood Center at the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community at IU Bloomington. The purpose of the program is to increase the level of health and safety in child care settings across Indiana. For more information, visit https://www.iu.edu/~cchealth or call 1-800-825-4733 .
